Here is exactly how Pandokin works, in plain language. No jargon, no fine print, and honest answers about where we are today.
Short, direct answers you can quote us on.
No. Never. Your gift goes directly from you to the charity, processed by the charity's own payment system. Pandokin never holds, touches, or processes donation funds, and never sees your card or bank details.
Because your gift stays direct, your tax receipt comes from the actual charity you supported, not from a middleman platform. Pandokin simply records a copy of the completed gift in your personal giving ledger.
Pandokin is building shared data infrastructure for the giving world. Donors get one portable profile and one complete record of their giving. Nonprofits get donor information that stays accurate on its own. Funders get to see the change they funded, tracked from the moment they say yes.
Pandokin works alongside the tools everyone already uses. Nothing you already use gets replaced.
Your giving wallet is one running record of all your generosity: every donation, every organization, every receipt, in one place you own. Come tax time, one clean giving statement covers everything. The wallet copy is your personal record; the official tax acknowledgment still comes from the charity itself.
No. Your wallet works with every gift you give, starting day one, whether or not the charity has joined Pandokin. You give on the charity's own website exactly as you do now, and the record lands in your wallet. When an organization joins the network, things get even smoother, but your giving never has to wait.
You can also search all 1.8 million US registered nonprofits from Pandokin, and we will take you straight to the charity's own donation page.
A personal email address, like maria@pandokin.giving, that you can use on any donation form instead of your real one. It works like the private email addresses you may know from Apple's Hide My Email. Mail from organizations forwards to your real inbox, receipts file themselves into your wallet along the way, and your real email stays private, known only to Pandokin and shared only if you choose.
Because the address never changes, the charities you love can always reach you, even after you switch jobs or email providers. You update your real email once, in your wallet, and nothing breaks.
One. Yours is something like maria@pandokin.giving, and it is the only address you ever need to know. Behind the scenes, when you give to an organization, your wallet hands them their own tailored version of it, something like maria.redcross@pandokin.giving. Every version reaches you, and you never have to remember any of them.
The tailoring is what lets your wallet label every message by sender. If your information is ever shared without your permission, your wallet shows exactly which organization shared it, and you can close that door with one click.
Through secure, authorized integrations with the donation and CRM platforms nonprofits already use. Each nonprofit approves its own connection and can revoke it at any time. When you give on a participating charity's website, the gift is processed by the charity as usual, and the confirmed record syncs to your Pandokin ledger and the charity's own database.
Pandokin is not a browser plugin and does not watch your screen or your browsing. Nothing happens unless you choose to connect, and connecting is as familiar as using Apple Pay or Shop Pay at checkout, except Pandokin never processes the payment.
You do. Your profile belongs to you and travels with you, and you choose what each organization can see. We never sell your information, ever.
Clean, accurate donor data that keeps itself current, inside the CRM they already use. Donors give on the nonprofit's own website, so the organization keeps its brand, its story, and its direct relationship with every supporter. No manual data entry, no duplicate records, no switching costs.
When a donor unsubscribes or updates their preferences, that change often lands in one system and never reaches the others, so people keep getting mail they asked to stop. Preference Sync carries the change everywhere it needs to go.
Legally protected requests, like email unsubscribes, are applied automatically across every connected platform, with the nonprofit notified of exactly what changed. Courtesy preferences, like frequency or topics, wait for the nonprofit's approval before applying everywhere. Donors are respected the first time; nonprofits stay compliant by default.
No. Donor-advised funds and giving baskets sit between you and the charity: they hold or route the money, and the tax receipt often names the platform instead of the cause. Pandokin is a data layer, not a destination. You give wherever you already give, and Pandokin keeps the records connected.
No. Pandokin is for charitable giving. Political contributions are outside what Pandokin does, and unlike charitable gifts, they are never tax-deductible.
They are not outside what our family is planning, though. Ballotgrove (a working name) is a planned, legally separate sister organization, intended as a 501(c)(4) membership organization, that will bring the same privacy and record-keeping to political donors. If you join both, one login will show both sides of your generosity, with charitable and political records clearly separated and each held by the right organization. More on our family of organizations.
Not yet, and we want to be straight with you about that. Pandokin is an early-stage startup being built to operate as a nonprofit. We have not yet filed for 501(c)(3) status; we are currently raising the funding to file and to launch our first pilot.
Trust comes first here, which is why we would rather tell you exactly where we are than claim a status we do not yet hold. If you would like to help us get there, we would love to hear from you at hello@pandokin.org.
Not yet. We are building Pandokin right now and preparing a pilot with a small group of partner organizations. Leave your name on the waitlist and we will tell you the moment you can enroll.
